Services That Reduce Risk—and Build Resilience

We help homeowners and landowners across the Okanagan act on FireSmart recommendations with practical, hands-on mitigation work. Whether you’ve just received a FireSmart Assessment or are preparing your property in advance of fire season, we offer services designed to protect your home and landscape.

Unlike general landscapers or arborists, our work is grounded in FireSmart principles and guided by over 20 years of experience in emergency response and structural fire protection in the South Okanagan. We don't just trim trees—we understand how wildfire behaves, and we know exactly what to remove, what to leave, and how to prioritize work that actually reduces risk to your home.

Brush & Vegetation Clearing

Living in the Okanagan means living close to nature—but it also means living with wildfire risk. The condition of the area within the first 30 metres of your home plays a critical role in whether your home will ignite or sustain damage during a wildfire.

Our team is trained to safely and efficiently remove hazardous vegetation that increases wildfire risk. Whether you're in a rural property surrounded by forest or a residential neighbourhood where dry brush edges up against fences and sheds, we help create safer conditions around your home. Following FireSmart BC guidelines, we reduce, manage, or remove flammable fuels to help prevent wildfire from gaining ground.

Defensible Space Creation

Defensible space is a proven method to slow or stop the spread of wildfire around your property. It involves clearing and managing the area surrounding your home so flames and embers have fewer opportunities to take hold.

Using the FireSmart 3-zone model, we assess and treat the space from your home outward—removing fuels close to the structure, thinning vegetation farther out, and identifying materials or landscaping choices that may pose a risk. This is especially important in interface areas, where the dry landscape meets residential development. Many homeowners in the Okanagan simply don’t have the time, equipment, or energy to manage this work—we’re here to do it for you, properly and safely.

Home Hardening & Maintenance

Wildfire embers can travel kilometers and often ignite homes without the fire ever reaching them. That’s why “hardening” your home—making it more resistant to ember ignition—is just as important as clearing the space around it.

We take care of the small but essential tasks that are often overlooked: cleaning roofs and gutters, applying metal screening to vents , installing ember-resistant mesh, and replacing flammable materials like wood fencing where needed. For homeowners who are short on time or physically unable to do this work themselves, we provide a reliable, FireSmart-aligned service that gives peace of mind heading into wildfire season.

What You May Be Eligible For:

  • Up to $500–$1,000 in rebates for eligible wildfire mitigation work

  • Funding support for services like vegetation clearing, home hardening, and defensible space creation
